Supporting Communities through Pig Rearing: A Lasting Partnership
As we enter the penultimate day of our 10-year anniversary campaign, we are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our remarkable community-focused projects with Youth Partnership Uganda (YPU). Together, we have been working tirelessly to uplift households in the Kasese District through pig-rearing initiatives, bringing about sustainable change and economic empowerment.

In 2020, we embarked on our first pig-rearing project cycle, laying the foundation for transforming the lives of individuals and communities. Witnessing its positive impact, we were inspired to continue our efforts, and in 2022, we initiated cycle 2 with cohort #2. Our progress thus far fills us with immense pride and motivates us to expand this initiative further.
The pig-rearing project operates on a simple yet powerful concept. We provide families with piglets and comprehensive pig husbandry, nutrition, and business management training. These skills enable them to establish self-sustaining pig farms and generate a stable income source for themselves and their families. Moreover, the project encourages the formation of savings groups, fostering a culture of financial resilience and independence.
Through our partnership with YPU, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of pig rearing. Families who once faced financial hardships are now experiencing improved livelihoods and enhanced social standing. The economic benefits ripple through the community, creating opportunities for education, healthcare, and overall development.
But our journey doesn't end here. We are committed to making an even greater impact in the years to come. With your support, we plan to expand our pig-rearing projects, introducing more cycles and empowering additional communities.
