Screen-Printing Machine for Fantasy Soccer Academy

Fantasy Soccer Academy (FSA), located in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Kenya, is a community-driven soccer training facility for young athletes. About an hour's drive from Nairobi CBD or conveniently accessible via the expressway, the academy's main training facility, situated a brief 20-minute drive from town, features changing rooms and a standard-sized soccer field.

In line with financial sustainability goals, FSA initiated a screen-printing microenterprise with funding from The Giving Exchange (TGE). Capable of printing various items, including soccer uniforms, the venture proved lucrative. During off-peak school months, profits averaged 16,000 Kenyan shillings/month, increasing significantly to an average of 30,000 Kenyan shillings during peak school holiday months.

Responding to growing aspirations, Fantasy Soccer, with TGE's financial support, acquired a second printing machine and an embroidery machine in November 2023. This strategic enhancement coincided with the peak season, resulting in a remarkable 54,500 Kenyan shillings in profits in its first month, showcasing an impressive 82% increase from previous monthly averages.

These encouraging figures not only reflect financial success but also underline Fantasy Soccer Academy's commitment to achieving self-sustainability. The academy plans to continue serving traditional sportswear markets while proactively reaching out to corporate professionals, aiming to reach new clientele and ensure the long-term success of the printing project.

Fantasy Soccer's holistic approach includes training athletes for all levels, recognizing the vast benefits of team sports. Notably, one of their trainees secured a spot to play in Germany this year.

Reflecting on the last five years of growth since TGE's introduction in 2019, Fantasy Soccer Academy's journey has been remarkable, and TGE is proud to be a foundational partner.
