Hand-washing Stations for Schools

The Giving Exchange has invested in a woman-led microenterprise "Portiah Welders" ran by a young woman named Jane who grew up at Morning Star Children's Home. With the pandemic still out of control, but at home learning nearly impossible in Kenya, the government had required schools to re-open for exam years, and for each of the schools to provide the hand washing stations for good hygiene. With no funding for this new equipment, the schools could not afford to purchase them. TGE made it happen by hiring Jane to construct and weld one hundred and five hand washing stations to put in 21 schools around Kiambu.
